The coaching team at Mountain Strong fitness is made up of competitive athletes that have a background in crossfit and strength conditioning. The coaches specialize in strength training for alpine athletes to grow their fitness skills. Their collective experience in the gym and on the mountain make them the best coaching team for climbers looking to improve their technique, agility and stamina for big mountain objectives.

Will Gordon

Will comes from an athletic and business background. After playing nearly every sport imaginable while growing up, he settled into swimming, earning a scholarship to Penn State University. After his NCAA career, he began careers in both management and CrossFit. While thriving in both, Will and his wife Melissa moved out to Colorado to pursue the outdoors. When not in the gym, he can most likely be found climbing and biking his way through the Front Range. Will holds CF-L1 and Olympic Lifting certifications.

Anne Delbovo

Anne was a collegiate pole vaulter and earned her degree in Nursing. After college, she continued her athletic career through CrossFit, where she learned of her love for both coaching and programming. When not in the gym, you can find Anne and her husband Scott exploring Denver’s food scene. Anne holds CF-L1 and Olympic Lifting certifications.

Matt Lloyd

With a less conventional background, Matt has thrived in the most real of alpine situations throughout his life, and has developed an itch for sharing his secrets of functional fitness with others. Not only fitness of the body, but the mind as well. In Matt’s 17+ years of climbing he has red-pointed 5.14, climbed big walls in Patagonia, and summited technical peaks in the Cordillera Blanca. These experiences over a lifetime have taught him the lessons he shares in his classes which can be described as part fitness and part mental toughness.

Jamie Gatchalian

Jamie began climbing in college after a deep involvement with competitive soccer while growing up. After working through a brutal shoulder injury years ago, he has come back stronger than ever, sending 5.14a and V9 since his injury. Jamie has been coaching both youth and adult climbing technique, strength, and fitness for years and is excited to bring his passion for climbing, training, and suffering to Mountain Strong. Along with being a USA Climbing L1 Routesetter, Jamie has been skiing since the 1980’s, and exclusively in the backcountry for nearly a decade. When not climbing, setting, or coaching, Jamie has been known to do some mountain ascents just to snag an amazing ski decent.
